The first ever documentary about the reality television show Big Brother Naija, is scheduled to air on the weekend of on August 13, 2022.
Femi Falodun, the Chief Executive Chief Executive Officer for ID Africa, disclosed this in a press release on Thursday.
Falodun revealed that the mini-documentary entitled, ‘BBNaija: The fame, the fans and the Frenzy created with ID Africa’s The Bang Studio, would debut in the near future.
“‘BBNaija The Fame The Fans, the Frenzy'” will reveal the workings of the most popular reality TV production in Africa and provide some facts about the show’s creation.
“It includes the most well-known housemates on the show such as Mercy Eke, Laycon, Nengi, Prince, Alex Asogwa, Bisola Aiyeola, Elozonam and Ozo.
“‘BBN The Fame the Fans The Frenzy”‘BBN: The Fame, the Fans, the Frenzy'” tells background of the show and examines its impact through perspectives of the relevant actors, and includes appearances by the crew, host and the organisers of the show.
“This has grown to become the biggest Big Brother franchise in the world,” said the executive.
Falodun explained that the program was an African pop-culture phenomenon, therefore it was imperative to tell the story.
“At ID Africa, we are awestruck by stories that have never been told And what more compelling story to tell than the most significant Big Brother instalment in the franchise’s time?
“In the last season, which was just concluded the show received more than 1 billion votes from viewers in the millions.
“It was also watched in over 30 countries across the globe, I am thrilled that we get to share the backstory of how this show is made and how much it changes the participants’ lives,” He declared.
Dr. Busola Tejumola, Executive Head of Content and West Africa Channels, MultiChoice she also expressed her excitement at the upcoming film’s premiere.
She added: “We have worked tirelessly in the background for decades to ensure that Big Brother Naija a success and it’s very exciting to witness the way in which the show unfolds each year being told with such a great style.
“The documentary will give fans an insight into how much work it takes to deliver the show each year” she added.
